Family Day

Today we spent a very fun and relaxing Family Day with our extended family.

The Royal Tyrrell Museum in Drumheller had free admission today and my cousin invited us along to go and see the dinosaurs.
I really did not know what to expect but I was surprised at the amount of dinosaurs that were exhibited.
I still cannot tell you the names of all these creatures but we did learn a few tidbits while reading the signs and now with Ret's peaked curiosity we will have to do some research to answer all the questions he has.

This was my favourite.  How they just cut out this slab of rock and displayed the fossil.

After the museum we went to see the smallest church.  I neglected to take a photo of the outside but here are some from inside.
With Preacher Tristan.

Next it was just a short ride to the "Big Dinosaur".
All the way up the steps into the mouth of the beast to see a terrific view of the countryside.

We were all the way up in that mouth.

Across the way was a little ice rink where the kids "skated" on their boots and played tag for quite some time.
It was a beautiful day.  We were sitting in the sunshine with light sweaters on and very warm.

Sadly Ter and Willow were not able to join us but happily we were surrounded by family and had such a good time.

As Kamo would say.  "It was so so fun."
